History
Nerd Nite Reno is local chapter of Nerd Nite, a collection of talk series around the world! Started in 2003 by Chris Balakrishnan in New York, Nerd Nite has now grown to over 100 cites across the world. More information about Nerd Nite in general can be found here. Anna was first exposed to Nerd Nite while an undergraduate in Lawrence, Kansas. She was forever changed. She then brought this enthusiasm to Reno in 2019, where she founded Nerd Nite Reno.
When there is not a global pandemic, Nerd Nite is held on the third Wednesday of every month at 7pm at the West Street Market in Reno, NV.

Anna Tatarko
Anna is a PhD student studying the ways agricultural chemicals impact bee health and nutrition. Apart from science, Anna’s also a nerd for dungeons and dragons, climbing, and podcasting (apparently!). Really a self-proclaimed jackass of all trades!
Chris Halsch
Chris helps Anna run Nerd Nite Reno. Most of his tasks are related to his owning a truck. He is also a graduate student at the University of Nevada Reno where he chases butterflies. Chris is a fan of the terrible pun and has never let one slip by. Many of them focus on his sophisticated interests such as Tolkien, Nicolas Cage, and Point Break.
