History
Nerd Nite Reno is local chapter of Nerd Nite, a collection of talk series around the world! Started in 2003 by Chris Balakrishnan in New York, Nerd Nite has now grown to over 100 cites across the world. More information about Nerd Nite in general can be found here. Anna Tatarko was first exposed to Nerd Nite while an undergraduate in Lawrence, Kansas. She was forever changed. She then brought this enthusiasm to Reno in 2019, where she founded Nerd Nite Reno.
Nerd Nite is held on the second Wednesday of every month at 7pm at the West Street Market in Reno, NV.

Louis Gunning
Louis earns a meager living developing slot machine games in the roaring metropolis of Reno. His hobbies are never the same two days in a row, just look at his poisonous homemade cheese, his unfinished Minecraft zoo or his crude meerkat painting that he is afraid to finish.
Akhila Gopal
Akhila has lost years of her life to rewatching sitcoms and many brain cells to memorizing lyrics from 2000s billboard hits, but she’s still somehow managing grad school. Don’t ask her “where are you really from?” unless you have time for the full story.
Otis Clyne
Otis can be found aimless roaming the badlands between the KRC and FA buildings on UNR campus. If you happen to run into him, don’t be afraid when all he talks about is plants and his life as a PhD student… he means well but is frequently in desperate need of a nap.
Michelle Werdann
Michelle is a science nerd and gets to write about science for a living! If you’re a grad student in the College of Science, feel free to tell her about your work, or better yet, do it over email, she has business cards.
